At the opening of the Wanganui solo exhibition for my Wanganui collection I had two couples, both neighbours whose houses feature in the ‘Up the River painting’. They decided to toss a coin to see who got to buy it. The loser commissioned this one which has more details they wanted added, and I think their one ended up being the better of the two.
